Saint Luke’s is a Nicotine free (this includes patches, gum, vape, etc.) Health System – all travelers will be tested upon hire. If found with nicotine in your system, you will be canceled and may be ineligible for re-hire.
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience:
Required skills include: MS/Tele, cardiac telemetry, telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry unit monitoring, use of rapid response teams, post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin protocols, management of cardiac drips without titration, management of vasoactive drips without titration, PCA, surgical drains, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BIPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of ABGs, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Previous Charge Experience: Preferred.
Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
Required Credentials:
You must have a MO license and be in the process of applying for a KS license (+vice-versa) or you must have a compact licensure to apply.
Special Requests:
If requesting 7 days of RTO, the expectation is that the missed time is made up.
Unit Details:
Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population.
Medical cardiac stepdown patients with chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, and multiple system diseases.
Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 hours.
Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts in Saint Luke’s 6-week schedule period, combination of F/S/S.
Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit.
No call.
RTO: No more than 7 days.
Floating Requirements:
Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed, including all Intermediate and ED units.
Details:
• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
