Required Credentials: Driver’s license is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license. Ascension Health does not accept vaccine/Tdap declinations. Ascension Pharmacology Exam required during onboarding; minimum 80% score, 2 attempts allowed. Ascension Specialty Exam required during onboarding; minimum 80% or national benchmark passing score, 2 attempts allowed. Ascension Core Competencies required during onboarding; minimum 80% or national benchmark passing score, 2 attempts allowed. Ascension EKG Exam required during onboarding; minimum 80% score, 2 attempts allowed.

Special Requests: Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles. Candidates must have at least 6 months of employment separation to be considered for a travel position. In order to receive travel rate, clinician’s claimed residence must match address on driver’s license.

Unit Details: Mixed ICU/step-down unit with ICU 2:1 and step-down 3:1 ratios. Patient population includes severe respiratory failure, including pneumonia, ARDS, COPD or asthma exacerbations; sepsis and septic shock; hemodynamic instability; neurologic conditions including altered mental status, metabolic encephalopathy, overdose, or non-surgical stroke; complex metabolic and endocrine disorders; cardiac conditions not requiring immediate intervention; and gastrointestinal or hepatic failure. Typical patient needs include continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, arterial lines, NIH and TNK therapy, mechanical ventilation, noninvasive ventilation or advanced oxygen therapies, titrated IV medications (vasopressors, sedatives, insulin, antiarrhythmics), enteral or parenteral nutrition, and frequent laboratory monitoring with complex medication regimens.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend and holiday rotation commitment.

Floating Requirements: Required to float to sister unit 5S to take step-down patients at 1:3 or progressive level patients at 4:1.
