Preferred Skills/Experience:
Pediatric cardiac experience preferred.
Required Credentials:
Any hit on your license must be disclosed. Hits will be sent to UVA leadership for approval prior to proceeding.
Special Requests:
Travelers are not eligible to return after reaching 365 total assignment days, regardless of time away.
Time off cannot be approved during the first 2 weeks of the contract.
Unit Details:
This unit maintains a high census and high acuity.
Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatric patients, and adolescents.
Combined pediatric cardiac and medical critical care patients.
Cardiac cases may include DORV, TOF, HLHS, Norwood-Sano/BT shunt, TGA, and heart transplant patients.
Medical cases may include a history of TBI, RSV, rhinovirus/enterovirus, DKA, trauma, seizures, and varying postoperative cases including orthopedic, neurologic, liver-transplant, kidney-transplant, hematology, and oncology patients; no chemotherapy.
Patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2; if acuity is high, they may be 2:1.
Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
Every other holiday; must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays.
3 weekends per six-week schedule.
40 hours of time off can be approved.
Straight nights or rotating schedules are accepted.
Floating Requirements:
May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs.
Details:
• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
