Required Skills/Experience:
2 years experience with chemo administration required.
Special Requests:
RTO not requested at the time of submission will not be approved.
Must be separated from BILH for 6+ months and be in good standing to be considered.
Unit Details:
Adult patients have hematologic, oncologic, or medical diagnoses requiring outpatient infusion services.
The unit sees 60-110 patients per day; actual patient volume varies based on the length of each treatment.
Nursing ratios are an estimate made in good faith and may vary by department/facility demands.
The infusion room is attached to the heme/onc clinic, with APP coverage provided by the clinic.
Clinical work includes chemotherapy and medical infusion administration, blood transfusions, phlebotomy, starting peripheral IVs, accessing and deaccessing IVADs, and caring for PICC lines. Equipment includes Alaris infusion pumps and CADD pumps for home infusion therapy.
Shift & Scheduling:
Every 3rd Saturday is required.
The infusion room will be closed on 05/23, 05/25, 07/03-04, 09/05, 09/07, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
Floating Requirements:
May float to Peabody; floating is rare but may occur based on staffing needs. Floating is done by date of last float.
