References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Open heart, CABG, and valve experience required. Must be able to first scrub.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI or Dignity. RTO must be submitted upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved after submission.
Unit Details: Common cases include open hearts (CABG, valve, aneurysms), thoracotomies, VATS, convergent, AAA, carotids, ION robotic cases, ECMO, and Impella 5.5. Uses Stryker towers.
Shift & Scheduling: Mon-Fri; may need to start at 6a for open heart case prep when notified the day before. Weeknight call 3-4 times per week, 1515-0645. Weekend call every other to every third weekend, Fri at 1515 to Mon at 0645. Rotating holidays; must be willing to work holidays. 15-minute call response time. 8 hour reprieve shifts for post call.
Floating Requirements: Must be willing to cross train to other OR specialties if CV volumes are low; for ortho or general cases, will cross train to second scrub. Must be willing to float to the floor as a 1:1 sitter to supplement hours if case volume is low. If refused, this is considered supplemental time off and an RDO day. Ability to pick up extra for 1:1 sitting to supplement hours if case volume is low.
