Required Skills/Experience:
No first-time travelers are accepted; applicants must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months.
Proficiency caring for all patient types and a variety of med-surg patients is required.
Experience with heparin is required.
Recent charge or precept experience is required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Telemetry/cardiac background is highly preferred.
Special Requests:
Past UnityPoint Health (UPH) employees who were FTEs or PRN members of the UPH float pool cannot work travel in another market, regardless of which facility they currently work at or have worked at within the past 12 months. This separation policy does not apply if they worked travel at UPH rather than as an FTE or PRN employee.
Unit Details:
Patient types include all types of med-surg care.
Heparin is used as a drip.
Telemetry monitoring is performed remotely by a tele tech.
Shift & Scheduling:
Night schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, or Friday-Sunday with a weeknight shift.
Flexible contract hours: 48 per week, or 36 per week if the RN prefers.
Weekends are every other or every 3rd, depending on staffing/census.
Unless the unit is closed, contractors are required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming holidays.
No call.
Floating Requirements:
Travelers are required to float across all campuses and units, including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist.
