IU Health will not allow IN RNs to work at their facilities. Exceptions include: Periop/OR RNs, allied and ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. Periop includes Endo, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS.
Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers accepted if they have Level I Trauma experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
Unit Details: This is a circulating position; scrubbing is not required. Adult and geriatric patient population. Core 5 CV cases include heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, ECMO, and endovascular procedures.
Shift & Scheduling: Call required: approx 100 hrs/6 wks. 1 call weekend per 6 weeks (Friday evening to Monday morning). Must work 2/3 major holidays. Flexible contract hours: 8 and 10 hr. shifts - 40 hrs. in one workweek. 3, 12 hr shifts - 36 hrs. in one workweek. 4, 12 hr. shifts - 48 hrs. in one workweek.
Floating Requirements: Float to other OR specialties.
