An interview with the unit manager may not be available prior to offer. If you do not interview with the unit manager, you may interview with a third-party clinical nurse manager.

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years of critical care experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous travel experience (1-2 assignments) preferred. Desired specific skillset includes previous experience with management of cardiac patients, strong telemetry interpretation, management of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) including NSTEMI/STEMI, experience with post-cardiac catheterization patients, care of patients with chronic and acute heart failure, knowledge of cardiac pharmacology (antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, vasoactive medications), and the ability to recognize and respond to cardiac deterioration and rapid changes.

Preferred Credentials: BSN preferred.

Unit Details: Primary cases include NSTEMI, STEMI, arrhythmias (heart block, bradycardia, tachycardia), CHF, syncope/near syncope, post-op angio/cardiac cath, post-op ablation/pacemaker/ICD, and management of various gtts including nitroglycerin, heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, nicardipine, Cleviprex, and Precedex.

Shift & Scheduling: 12-hour day/night variable shifts: 0700-1930 or 1900-0730. Two weekends per month and every other holiday. Can be low censused and put on call. Call back minimum is 2 hours. Hours may vary during orientation week.

Floating Requirements: Floating to inpatient units including oncology, neurology, orthopedics, med/surg, and IMCU.
