Required Skills/Experience: Experience with traches, cardiac gtt, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, and management of central lines.
Unit Details: Combination PCU and MedSurg unit caring for patients with stroke R/O, PNA, cellulitis, FTT, AMS, CP R/O, Afib, COPD, and similar diagnoses. Support includes CNAs for ADLs, VS, FSBG, telemetry/Masimo monitoring, and ADT assistance; receptionist/HUC on most day shifts for call bell and phone triage and ADT assistance; charge nurse mostly without patient assignment; phlebotomy; IV/VAT team; resource nurse as staffing allows; RT 24/7; hospitalists 24/7 with a mix of in-person and virtual coverage; telemetry monitoring at the nurses station and in the central bunker at AH Cleveland. LPNs may take primary nurse assignments. Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips telemetry monitors, fall prevention tools, and patient positioning tools. Special Requests: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays; must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. On-call: None. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.
Floating Requirements: Will float within scope of practice at this facility and may float fairly regularly to AH Cleveland, approximately 15-20 minutes away; travelers would typically know in advance if needed there. Will be required to float per region needs to Region 3 facilities: Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH), within scope of practice. If floating mid-shift, traveler will remain on the clock while traveling between facilities.
