Required Skills/Experience:
1 year of recent inpatient pediatric oncology experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Two years pediatric experience and inpatient pediatric experience within the last year at a tertiary level and teaching hospital are strongly preferred.
BMT experience is strongly preferred, but pediatric Heme/Onc experience is acceptable.
BMT skills are a plus.
Required Credentials:
RNs only: If CA state licensure is 3 months or less from expiration, proof that the renewal process has been initiated is required to apply.
Special Requests:
An interview may not be given prior to an offer being made.
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
References must be from your most recent employment.
Unit Details:
C6 provides patients with a myriad of treatment modalities such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, gene therapy, bone marrow transplant, and pain and palliative care.
The unit specializes in the treatment of pediatric hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant patients, as well as several pediatric surgical subspecialties such as ENT and urology.
Patient population includes infants, pediatric patients, adolescents, and adults.
Shift & Scheduling:
Day shifts: 7:00-19:30; night shifts: 19:00-7:30.
Rotation will last for one schedule period (4 weeks), except for orientation week.
Clinical precepted orientation may consist of day and night shifts.
Candidates who prefer nights will most likely be accommodated on all night shifts.
Minimum 4 weekend shifts per contract.
Floating Requirements:
Ability to float to other UCSF facilities; travelers are first to float.
