Travel Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

• Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year.

Unit Details:

• The ER has a fast-track area.
• The ER has a separate triage area; travelers may occasionally perform triage.
• ER holds are intermixed with the ER, and ER staff care for them.
• The ER has no separate psychiatric/seclusion rooms.
• In-house security is available.
• The ER sees 80-90 patients per day.
• Common diagnoses include trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac conditions.
• Respiratory therapy completes ABGs, breathing treatments, and EGSs.
• There is no monitor technician; RNs must know ECG rhythms.
• X-ray and CT are next to the ED.
• Blood draws are performed by a technician or RN.
• Uses Paragon.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Shifts are 3p - 3a or 7p - 7a.
• Self-scheduling is available.
• Weekends are scheduled as needed.
• Every other holiday.
• No call.

Floating Requirements:

• Floats to units for which the clinician is qualified.
