Required Skills/Experience: 1 year of experience working as an OR / Surgical Tech in a general OR setting is required; experience in an ambulatory OR setting is preferred. ENT: Direct laryngoscopy, endoscopic sinus procedures, laparoscopic assisted cases, mastoidectomy/tympanoplasty/stapedectomy, radical neck dissection, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, tracheostomy. General surgery: Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, laparoscopic assisted procedures. Orthopedic: Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, arthroscopy, arthrotomy, carpal tunnel release, closed/open reduction of fractures, crutch fitting/education, fiberglass/synthetic cast application, removal of casts/splints, total hip replacement, total knee replacement. Podiatry: Ankle fusion, bunionectomy, hallux valgus arthroplasty/arthrodesis, metatarsal surgery. Professional knowledge and skills: Aseptic technique, isolation precautions/PPE, laser safety, pressure ulcer prevention, radiation safety, sharps safety, specimen handling/labeling, universal protocol (time out) procedure.
Required Credentials: Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past.
Special Requests: RTO must be listed at time of submission. All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility. References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Unit Details: Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population.
Shift & Scheduling: Typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; Friday may replace a scheduled day depending on need. May need flexibility to start 1 hour earlier or end 1 hour later. Off weekends. No on-call.
