Travel Nurse (RN) - Oncology Unit

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Step-down experience preferred; unit uses lots of standing orders (fluid bolus, first fever) and cares for very acute hematology patients.

Preferred Credentials:

• Chemo and biotherapy certificate preferred.

Unit Details:

• Blood cancer/hematology-oncology unit.
• Uses telemetry, bladder scanner, Alaris pump, and Alaris PCA.
• Typical procedures include lumbar puncture, bone marrow biopsies with conscious sedation and no sedation, and thoracentesis.
• This unit gives lots of medications, blood, and electrolyte replacements.
• If you are not chemo/biotherapy certified, you will not administer chemo/biotherapy, but you will work around hazardous drugs.
• Uses more primary nursing with less PCT/CNA support.
