Additional Information

Required Credentials: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: General Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology experience preferred. PET experience preferred. CT experience preferred.

Special Requests: Failed fit tests due to facial hair and inability to shave automatically disqualify clinicians from proceeding.

Unit Details: Provides immobilization devices as required and selects and operates Nuclear Medicine equipment as directed. Evaluates images using PACS to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value. Provides radiation protection for self and the patient in accordance with prescribed safety. Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals to the patient and prepares radioactive tracer compounds for patient use. Performs radionuclide procedures inclusive of organ imaging, function studies, and assisting the physician in the therapeutic use of radioisotopes under prescribed safety conditions. Calibrates equipment and assays radionuclides. Receives and inspects radiopharmaceutical packages according to state and NRC guidelines. Maintains records of radioisotope receipt, use, storage, and disposal in accordance with state and federal regulations governing accountability for radioactive materials. Rotate work assignments as needed, such as Cardiology and PET/CT. Uses PACS, Teletracking System, and Nuclear Medicine Information System; includes patient scheduling and computer processing associated with patient studies. Includes phlebotomy and Nuclear Medicine and/or PET exams.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled are required. Mon-Fri. No weekends, no holidays, and no on-call. Overtime as needed.
