Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Unit

Local Rate = 10% less than travel rate (10/9/2026).

If your start date is within 90 days, you must complete all labs within 72 hours of signing an offer with MUSC.

You must have applied for your South Carolina license prior to submission.

Required Skills/Experience:
Med/Surg, MS/Tele, telemetry, insulin, and rapid response skills required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
2 years of experience preferred.
Previous Charge Experience: Preferred

Special Requests:
RTO is due at time of submission.
RTO approval will be based on facility needs.
Any candidate that has 7+ days and/or includes holiday RTO will have to be submitted to the facility for approval and can delay the process.
Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (peak: August–September). If unavailable for emergency response duties, please do not confirm new assignments or extensions during this period.
Hurricane season runs from June through November.

Unit Details:
Adult and geriatric patient population.
The staffing plan supports a normal 1:6 ratio but will flex to 1:7 if an unplanned absence cannot be covered.
Patient population includes typical adult medical-surgical diagnoses such as diabetes, renal disease, hypertension, coronary artery disease, stroke, chest pain, and altered mental status. All patients are eligible for telemetry monitoring, which is performed by monitor technicians in a central location.
Telemedicine is used; instruction will be provided.

Shift & Scheduling:
Every other weekend.
Call required: PRN low census.

Floating Requirements:
Float to Med-Surg units and sister facilities to meet facility needs.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
