Required Credentials:
Basic Cardiac Rhythm required; traveler will be required to pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance.
Unit Details:
Labor & delivery/postpartum unit caring for laboring and antepartum patients, with triage, PACU, and OR coverage.
RN ratios follow AWHONN guidelines.
Uses bedside and nursing-station tele/fetal monitoring, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Phillips monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, Dynamap portable vital sign monitors, PCA pain management, bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, Glucommander, and suction machines.
Charge nurse may have patients.
Shift & Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 on a 6-week schedule.
On-call: 12-hour shift every 6 weeks.
Must work one day of each major holiday: either 11/26 or 11/27, and 12/24 or 12/25, and 12/31 or 1/1.
Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.
Special Requests:
RTO requests require manager approval.
Floating Requirements:
Float to all adult med-surg/telemetry units in house.
