Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.
Required Skills/Experience: Recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
Unit Details: Ratios: 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in OBS, 1:1 ICU/Trauma. Common diagnoses/types of patients: trauma, sepsis, chest pain, SOB, strokes-TPA. Common drips: all common drips seen in Level I trauma ERs. ED includes Fast Track and a separate triage area. ED is staffed with physicians and mid-levels. Support staff include nurse aides, EMTs, paramedics, and patient sitters. Tele/monitor techs are available; RNs must read and interpret their own strips. Fast paced, high acuity.
Shift & Scheduling: Weekend requirements vary based on department needs. Holiday requirements vary based on department needs.
Floating Requirements: Will float to OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once a week.
