Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience required. Acute care experience must be current/today (and working consistently in the last 12 months) and must be in the specialty with which they are applying. Interpretation of dysrhythmias. Accessing ports. Arterial line management. Blood product administration. Central line care/management. PICC line management. IV start. Assist with chest tube insertion/removal. High flow nasal cannula (HFNC). Interpretation of ABGs.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Oncology experience preferred but not required. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. Cannot apply to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities if you have an active application to any Ohio State University facilities.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Common diagnoses include breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, esophageal cancer, sickle cell crises, and antineoplastic chemotherapy encounters. Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration. Soft tissue malignancy patients receiving diagnostic services, chemotherapy, and symptom management. Symptom management secondary to disease-related treatment or progression, including management of comorbidities. Agency staff have the following parking permit options (purchased through CampusParc at osu.campusparc.com); WMC Agency Permit (Most Convenient Option), 24/7 access to Wexner Medical Center Garage (guaranteed availability), $224.80/month, $748.58 per 100-day permit: WB Permit (Budget Option), Weekend/holiday access to 9th Ave East & West Garages, 24/7 access to West Campus surface lots (WB/WC spaces), Shuttle service provided to the medical center, $16.35/month; CXS Permit: Weekend/holiday access to 9th Ave East & West Garages, 24/7 access to Buckeye (CX) and West Campus surface lots, $32.83/month; Please note: Parking costs and options are subject to change per CampusParc policies.

Shift & Scheduling: 12-hour day/night rotating contract; day shift 07:00 - 19:30 and night shift 19:00 - 07:30. You may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both depending on department needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time. Weekend coverage is variable based on unit needs.

Floating Requirements: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity, including other Med Surg Oncology units.
