Required Skills/Experience: Pre-op and PACU experience required. Must be able to read and identify rhythm changes and life-threatening rhythms.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Previous facility employees may receive one-off exceptions, but approval from St. Luke's Health System is required.
Unit Details: Shared position with surgical and endoscopy pre-op and recovery; expected to support endoscopy care, though endoscopy procedure experience is not required. Staff rotate between pre-op and PACU phases and may start in pre-op before transitioning into PACU. Ratios: Pre-op 1:3, Phase 1 1:2, Phase 2 1:1-3. Cases include general, breast, ortho, urology, and OBGYN. Duties include preparing patients for surgery, post-anesthesia recovery, airway management, and pain management. Staff also assist with restocking and patient turnover. ICU patients may recover in PACU about once per month. No RT on the unit; RT is available for assist, and anesthesia oversees the area.
Shift & Scheduling: Set schedules are assigned by management. May be asked to go into call schedule. Call response time: 30 mins.
Floating Requirements: May be asked to float to other areas as needed, though this is not typical. No floating outside the hospital to another site.
