Required Skills/Experience:

  • RNs need to be able to read and interpret their own strips.
  • Must have 1 year experience with this patient population.

Required Credentials:

  • Pass/fail open-book orientation exam on Friday; minimum score 90%.
  • You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.

Special Requests:

  • At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you are applying to.
  • Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
  • Holiday requirement: every other or as needed based on unit needs.

Unit Details:

  • Open heart and complex thoracic and vascular patients recover on the unit.
  • Patients are stabilized and supported by Impella, IABP, CRRT, and ECMO.
  • Common and advanced cardiac surgeries, lytic cases, carotids and TCARs, fem-pop, and EVARs/Endo AAAs.
  • Unit also supports complex cases coming from the cath lab, structural heart program and EP lab, ER, and clinic.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Every other weekend.

Floating Requirements:

  • Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU.

Previous Employment Requirements:

  • Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
  • Cannot be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.

Required Credentials:

  • Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
  • Each employment history entry on the resume must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level if applicable, patient ratio, and whether it was a teaching facility.
