Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Unit

If your start date is within 90 days, you must complete all labs within 72 hours of signing an offer with MUSC.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
3 years of experience highly preferred.
Previous Charge Experience: Preferred
Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
Bladder scanning preferred.

Special Requests:
RTO is due at time of submission.
RTO approval is based on unit needs.
Any candidate that has 7+ days and/or includes holiday RTO will have to be submitted to the facility for approval and can delay the process.

Unit Details:
Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November each year (peak: August–September). If unavailable for emergency response duties, please do not confirm new assignments or extensions during this period.
Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population.
The role includes rounding with the surgeon.
The role includes facilitating positive HCAHPS/patient experience scores.
General surgery accounts for 80% of the patient population; cases include thyroidectomy, mastectomy, hiatal hernia, cholecystectomy, colon resection, nephrectomy, hysterectomy, bladder sling, penile implants, cystoscopy/TURBT, blunt-trauma motor vehicle accidents, debridement/skin grafts, and gastrointestinal bleeds.
Patient ratios are 1:6, with 7 patients occasionally.

Shift & Scheduling:
Shift options include 3x12s or 4x12s; 4x12s are preferred.
The schedule includes every other weekend and holiday rotation; candidates who can work holidays are a priority.
Call rotation is required.

You must have applied for your South Carolina license prior to submission.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
