Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must be able to titrate drips.
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.
  • Previous travelers may use cumulative experience toward eligibility requirements.

Unit Details:

  • Cardiac/tele cardiopulmonary unit caring for cardiac patients, CR bands, post-cath, AMI, post-op lung surgery patients after CCU, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post-PCI patients; no stepdown patients, sheath pulls, or art lines.
  • Occasional titratable cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrilin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg.
  • Uses Philips telemetry monitors.
  • Uses CPAP and BiPAP; RT manages.
  • Charge nurse available 24/7; days does not take patients, nights may take a patient assignment.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Every other weekend; weekend shifts are Saturday/Sunday.
  • Works holiday rotation with permanent staff.

Floating Requirements:

  • Floats to any MedSurg/Tele unit.

Special Requests:

  • Artificial nails are not allowed for travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated.
  • If candidate worked at a permanent facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from that permanent facility.
  • At least 1 reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to.
