Additional Details:

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe. No medical marijuana cards accepted. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: needs 2 years recent ICU exp Strong cardiac knowledge required. Medical Intensive Care Unit and Surgical Intensive Care Unit experience required. Interpretation of dysrhythmias; management of dysrhythmias; management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure; obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG; Central Venous Pressure Monitoring (CVP); Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring; chronic/acute renal failure; arterial line management; blood product administration; central line care/management; PICC line management; starting and maintaining IVs; continuous IV sedation; emergency medications; titrate cardiac drips; titrate vasoactive drips; CVA/acute stroke management; assist with management of BiPAP; care of ventilated patient; interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs); respiratory failure; suctioning (ETT, NT); ventilator management; infection prevention; isolation precautions/use of PPE; phlebotomy; surgical wounds with drains/Wound Vac.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Multi-disciplinary ICU that does see fresh hearts. Travel RNs will not take fresh cases but will be scheduled in the CTICU for coverage. Patient population includes Resp Failure/ARDS, acute chest pain/cardiac/arrhythmias, stroke, cardiac arrest, DKA, multi-organ failure, and sepsis. Pre and post op cardiac, thoracic, abdominal surgeries; medicine and neuro-medicine overflow; pre-and post-transplant; end of life/organ donation. Uses IV pumps/titration, CRRT/dialysis, Ventilator/BIPAP, hemodynamic/invasive monitoring, and Defibrillator/crash cart. Charge RN assignments as needed per unit.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. BJC policy: Every other weekend required. No call. No more than 7 days of RTO. Holiday shifts as needed per unit.

Floating Requirements: Will float within service line to ICU units; may float down to MS as needed.
