Required Skills/Experience: Need to have experience with the same type of hospital acuity; no CAH. Need experience at a larger organization with high acuity, high turnover, and fast pace.
Unit Details: Patient population includes diabetic, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, dialysis, some overflow post-surgical patients, amputations, debridements, wound care, DVTs, ETOH, and psych; hospice may be added in the future. Uses Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin. Patients are monitored on a different unit, and nurses are not required to read strips. CPAP is used; BiPAP is nights only. Charge nurse generally does not take a patient assignment unless needed.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Rotate with permanent staff.
Floating Requirements: May float to all acute care and cardio units to care for medical patients, or to EC for acute care patient holds.
