Additional Details:

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Acute pediatric intermittent hemodialysis.

Unit Details:

  • Intermittent hemodialysis at bedside and within a multi-treatment room.
  • Neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population.
  • Any patient admitted to OHSU and Doernbecher (DCH) requiring acute hemodialysis treatment due to an acute indication or illness.
  • Manages the patient's clinical status, venous access, infusion of blood components or specialized fluids, and oversees the technical aspects of HD machines.
  • Provides patient/family/public education, oversees dialysis technicians from start to finish, performs surveillance and testing of dialysis water treatment equipment and dialysis water, and participates in quality improvement activities including data collection for the dialysis unit QAI plan.
  • Staffing ratio: 1:2 days, 1:1 nights, 1:2 weekends.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • On-call 1-2 nights per week (1900-0730).
  • Every other weekend.
  • 3 weekend shifts per contract.

Floating Requirements:

  • Floating would be assisting hemodialysis nurses with adult hemodialysis within OHSU or DCH.
