Required Skills/Experience: Ability to care for adult and pediatric patients experiencing medical emergencies. General ED skillset to include cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation.
Special Requests: RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays; must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
Unit Details: Busy, fast-paced acute ED seeing 200+ patients per day. Cares for all ages. Heavy trauma stabilization including GSW and stabbings; heavy mental health, homeless, and drug and ETOH addicted population. Common diagnoses include stroke, respiratory illness, chest pain, abdominal pain, and DM/DKA. Not trauma designated; trauma patients are transferred to CMC Main after stabilization. Support staff include CNA, receptionist, and charge nurse. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Phillips monitors. Free Parking.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call required. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Schedule cycle: 6 weeks.
Floating Requirements: Will be required to float per region needs to Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any freestanding ED within the region, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH), within scope of practice.
