Failed fit tests due to facial hair and the inability to shave automatically disqualifies clinician from proceeding.
Required Skills/Experience:
- 2 years prior experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or invasive procedure area.
- 6-12 months during a CVT accredited program or 2 years in another cardiac vascular laboratory.
- Familiarity with computers, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile operative techniques.
- Balloon pump insertion, Impella insertion, IVUS, and mechanical thrombectomy.
- Experience with X-ray imaging equipment and operating the C-arm.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 4 years of experience preferred.
- Pacemaker insertion preferred.
Required Credentials:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Credentials:
- BS preferred.
Unit Details:
- Assists physicians with diagnostic and interventional procedures including cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, atherectomy, TEC, rotablator, valvuloplasty, intravascular ultrasound, pulmonary angiograms, intra-aortic balloon pump procedures, and coronary and biliary stents.
- Uses digital cine technology and manages storage and retrieval of patient images and hemodynamic records.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled are required.
- On-call required; weekend call as needed.
- Holiday requirement: 1 summer / 1 winter.
