Additional Details:
Required Credentials:
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) accepted in lieu of ARRT (R).
Preferred Credentials:
- Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) preferred.
Unit Details:
- Provides radiology services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families.
- Operates interventional imaging equipment and related machinery.
- Verifies and executes physician orders for diagnostic and therapeutic exams, ensures proper preparation, and maintains patient safety during procedures.
- Performs as first assist to the Interventional Cardiologist, Vascular Surgeon, or Interventional Radiologist.
- Sets up sterile trays and maintains room sterility; circulating, manipulation of drains and lines, suturing, billing and filming, supplies stocking, charting, and quality improvement studies.
- Determines the best method of obtaining optimal interventional examinations, regulates patient flow, consults with radiologists regarding contrast media applications or variances in established procedures, and continually evaluates exam quality to improve image quality.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Monday-Saturday, variable days.
- Call is weekday call 1730-0700 (approximately 1 shift a week but can be more due to staffing adjustments) and 48 hour weekend call (Saturday and Sunday- one full weekend every 4 weeks).
- Schedule varies based upon department needs and can include weekends and major holidays.
- May be required to pick up one additional shift during schedule period.
Floating Requirements:
- Travelers may be required to float to the needs of the organization up to their competency level.
- May be required to assist other modalities within the department or Renown Health System.
