Special Requests: If the candidate worked at a permanent facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from that permanent facility. Cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. At least 1 reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to. No previous employment allowed at this facility.
Unit Details: Mild to severe emergency patients; may keep some CVA/stroke patients depending on acuity, while STEMIs transfer to UPMC Western Maryland. ER techs assist with EKGs, vital signs, wound care, crutches, and patient transport. Uses Phillips hard-wired and central station telemetry, portable Physio-Control monitors, and Pyxis. Occasional ventilated patients; unit uses vents, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen. Phlebotomy is available but shared as needed on the floor; no IV team. RT is available 24/7; CRNAs are in-house during regular hours and on call after hours. Physicians and midlevels provide daytime coverage for 12 hours.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are considered weekend shifts. Holiday rotation with permanent staff; travelers must be flexible.
Floating Requirements: No floating unless qualified and agreed to.
