Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- ICU or ED experience helpful.
Unit Details:
- Phase 1 recovery only; travelers do not cover both phases.
- Team leads do not take assignments and help cover lunches.
- No PCA support on unit.
- Occasional ventilated patients and BiPap/Cpap; RT sets up initial equipment and rounds.
- ICU patients may recover in PACU and can be held overnight when ICU beds are unavailable.
- RNs perform EKGs and use central monitoring; physician provides the official read.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Weekends as scheduled.
- Weekend call is usually once every 3 months, Saturday and Sunday 7a-7p.
- No night call coverage; staff cover nights except on Sunday.
- Holiday call is on an assigned rotation, with no more than one major holiday per year.
- Call response time: 60 minutes.
Floating Requirements:
- Travel RNs are not required to float to pre-op or other units; shared pre/post positions are already filled.
