Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have two (2) years of clinical experience, which includes one year in a comparable position.
Required Credentials:
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Doctoral degree in Psychology.
- Must be at least board eligible to qualify for privileges.
- A valid driver's license.
Unit Details:
- Provides mental health care for inmates/residents.
- Conducts psychological screenings and assessments through record review and clinical interviews.
- Develops, implements, and modifies individual treatment plans based on evaluation of needs and level of functioning.
- Makes regular rounds in segregation or other confined housing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental health treatment needs.
- Provides crisis mental health assessments, counseling, and confrontation avoidance interventions.
- Works as part of an interdisciplinary mental health team with psychiatry, nursing, medical, social work, education, chaplain, and security staff.
