    Additional Information

    Required Skills/Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a generalist, including Blood Bank.
    • Experienced micro tech; recent plate reading experience required.
    • Previous experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in a hospital or similar institution.

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

    • Vitek experience preferred.
    • Spot testing, GS SOP revision, and CLSI update capability are a strong plus.

    Required Credentials:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related field.
    • Nevada licensure is required, in addition to California licensure. If less than 3 years CLS experience, must have the Nevada Medical Technologist license. If more than 3 years CLS experience, must have the Nevada General Supervisor license or national exam (ASCP or AMT). If Nevada licensure is not active, proof of application is required upon hire and licensure must be obtained within 6 months of start date.

    Unit Details:

    • Performs Micro and PCR set-ups.
    • Performs chemical, microscopic, microbiological, blood bank, hematological, and serological testing.
    • Manual blood bank with tube and gel system.
    • Uses Ortho and Sysmex instrumentation.
    • Uses SoftLab and paper documentation.
    • Busy lab with a high volume of tests.
    • Department processes and charting are outdated; travelers should be comfortable with this setting.
    • No tube system for samples at the facility.

    Shift & Scheduling:

    • 8 orientation hours.
    • Overtime starts after 40 hours.

    Special Requests:

    • Call-off policy: 1 occurrence per 2 weeks.
