Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience:
Knowledge and ability to perform routine laboratory procedures, research, and set up new procedures.
Knowledge of CLIA, compliance, and HIPAA regulations, and budgeting.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience in all areas of the laboratory, including Microbiology and Immunohematology, computers, specialized analyzers, and equipment, is preferred.
Required Credentials:
A degree in biology or chemistry is required.
ASCP or equivalent certification, or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification, is required.
Unit Details:
Prepare specimens and operate automated analyzers.
Evaluate test results.
Perform manual tests following detailed instructions.
Must be able to work in all areas of this laboratory.
Responsible for laboratory quality control, proficiency testing, and quality assurance.
Participate in facility performance improvement projects.
Shift & Scheduling:
Day and evening shifts are included.
Nights and weekends are included in the workweek.
Holiday coverage is required.
Works unsupervised in an on-call situation.
