    Additional Details:

    Required Credentials: Associate's Degree in Radiology or Science. OR Completion of a certificate program in Radiology Technology. Temp Illinois licensure is not accepted.

    Unit Details: Performs diagnostic general radiological procedures utilizing various imaging equipment. Administers IV, oral, and rectal contrast when appropriate. Uses PACS to transfer and verify image data. May perform duties of other modalities within the department when licensed/cross-trained.

    Shift & Scheduling: Either 8am-4:30 or 8:30am-5pm. No holiday shifts.

    Floating Requirements: Travelers assigned to the Greater Peoria Service Area may be required to float between the following sites: Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and/or Carle Health Proctor Hospital. The Carle Leader will notify the traveler directly when there is a need to float between locations.

Job responsibilities include positioning patients, selecting the correct exposure settings, capturing clear radiographic images of bones, the chest, and other body regions, and following radiation-protection (ALARA) principles to keep patients and staff safe. Radiologic Technologists are certified through the ARRT (R) and are often the foundation of a facility’s imaging department.
