Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience and/or equivalent health teaching experience. Minimum of 1 year of education/training in administrative, management, and leadership principles and practices.
Preferred Skills/Experience: 1 year of experience as a clinical nurse educator or in a staff development role preferred.
Preferred Credentials: Master's degree in nursing preferred. Instructor certification in any discipline of American Heart Association (AHA), TNCC, ENPC, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., and TeamSTEPPS preferred. Certification in nursing professional development and/or area of specialty preferred.
Special Requests: Must live at least 90 miles from the facility.
Unit Details: Neurosurgical ICU nurse educator role developing and implementing education and professional development services and programs for health system employees. Develops, organizes, promotes, implements, evaluates, and revises nursing professional development activities including orientation, precepting, transition-to-practice programs, simulations, competency validation, computer-based learning, and continuing education courses throughout the organization. Serves as a nurse planner for the continuing nursing education unit and supports evidence-based practice as program administrator of Lippincott Nursing Procedures. Uses Microsoft Office, internet applications, and standard office equipment.
Shift & Scheduling: May require work beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs. Holiday Coverage: No
