Required Credentials:
Graduate from an accredited college, university or nursing program with a degree/diploma in nursing.
A valid driver's license.
Cannot have any disciplinary action on state license.

Special Requests:
Must be able to start within 2 weeks of the expected start date.

Unit Details:
Correctional setting caring for inmate/resident population.
Provides comprehensive nursing care, including executing licensed independent provider orders, dispensing and administering medications, assisting with examinations and treatments, and making referrals.
Attends sick call with the physician; prepares the list of inmates/residents to be examined and prepares the examining room and equipment.
Examines and assesses new inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries, or inmates/residents who become ill or injured, and refers them to the emergency room or other appropriate healthcare facility as required by their condition.
Performs emergency procedures as needed and notifies the licensed independent provider for treatment orders.
Provides guidance, supervision, and monitoring of care delivered by licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff.

Shift & Scheduling:
Expected to have open availability to work per the CoreCivic Scheduling Policy.
