    Required Skills/Experience: Able to care for cardiovascular patients, identify and interpret rhythms, and manage epidurals and chest tubes. Cardiac drip management: nitro, heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, dopamine (fixed rate), dobutamine (fixed rate).

    Required Credentials: If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.

    Special Requests: Any RTO or special requests not included on your application will not be considered. You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility. RTO requests go through the manager. Block scheduling can be accommodated if needed.

    Unit Details: Cardiac and vascular care includes MI, post-operative open-heart surgery including TAVR and fem-pop bypass within 24 hours, pre- and post-op open-heart patients 24-48 hours post-op, cardiac arrhythmias, Tikosyn therapy, pacemakers, ICDs, and PCU-level patients requiring higher care but not ICU criteria. Also includes post-cardiac catheterization patients (both femoral and radial approaches with TR bands), carotid and thoracotomy patients transitioning from ICU, microvascular flap procedures (typically not assigned to travelers due to low patient volume), and amputations related to vascular complications. Cardiac telemetry includes chest pain evaluation, stress testing, heart catheterization, arrhythmia management, percutaneous interventions, and pacemaker upgrades. Medical overflow; acuity-adaptable unit. Support includes 2-4 CNAs per shift, a free-floating charge nurse, a flex nurse 0700-1930 to assist with admissions and discharges and transport monitored patients, hospitalist 24/7, RT 24/7, cardiologist on-call 24/7, and 2 tele techs per shift. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Philips portable and bedside monitors.

    Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No on-call; extra shifts available if interested. 2 of 3 holidays can be expected. Schedule preferences are considered, but a set schedule is not guaranteed.

    Floating Requirements: Travelers are first to float to MedSurg units and ICU to cover overflow assignments.
