Registered Nurse

Proficiency in Foley catheter insertion, sterile field setup and maintenance, and procedural patient care.

Unit Details:
Uses Meditech.
Full-service OR with a broad case mix, including some ortho/neuro trauma and robotics; no major pediatrics, no transplants, and no c-sections in the main OR.

Shift & Scheduling:
Rotating days off.
Will cover a weekend approximately once a quarter.
On-call averages every 7th weekend, with no general weekday call. Ortho/neuro and cardio/thoracic specialty teams take nightly call; travelers would only take specialty call if cases are within their competency. Cardiac call is limited to cardiac cases, while general OR may cover ortho/neuro if within scope.
Call response time: 30 minutes.
Holidays rotate with permanent staff; must be flexible.

Circulating cases; pulls supplies/equipment for cases.
Responsibilities include ensuring supplies, timeliness of cases, communication with families, updating physician preference cards, scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgical cases, and supervising personnel delivering patient care.

Shift & Scheduling:
4x10hr days 7a - 5:30p or 5x8hr days 7a - 3:30p.
Call requirements: 3 first calls, 3 second calls, and 1 weekend every 6 weeks.

Call coverage required. Schedule is completed over 8 weeks; call is required 6-8 weekdays and 2 weekend days and can be split or done together.

Floating Requirements:
Must float to other departments in all facilities, including Perry Hospital, as needed. Rotation will be department based and monitored.
