    Additional Information

    References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

    Required Skills/Experience: 2 years minimum pediatric cardiac surgery experience (will review candidates with 1-2 years of pediatric cardiac surgery experience). First-time travelers not accepted; prefers previous travel and will consider if strong similar experience. Open to reviewing PICU, PACU, and CVICU candidates. PICU experience candidates must have mixed cardiac experience. PACU experience candidates must have critical care background and cardiac experience.

    Preferred Skills/Experience: CVPICU experience highly preferred. Ideal candidate would have travel experience plus 2-5 years in cardiac ICU. Children's hospital experience preferred.

    Required Credentials: If you have a multistate/compact nursing license, you will be required to complete a one time 6 hour suicide prevention training according to the WA state regulations. (7/13/23)

    Special Requests: No RTO during first two weeks of orientation. For night shift, travelers may be scheduled for the night before their RTO starts. The only shifts that can be guaranteed off are those pre-approved in contracts.

    Unit Details: Patient population: congenital heart disease, heart failure, heart transplant, higher acuity CICU, single ventricle palliation; birth to 21 years. Patient age groups: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults. Unit utilizes ECMO team, VADs, and CRRT.

    Shift & Scheduling: Variable 12-hour shifts: 07:00-19:00 and 19:00-07:00. Day/night rotating shifts are typically every 6-week cadence but are dependent on unit need. This may result in the traveler staying longer or shorter on a particular shift. Scheduling weeks run Monday-Sunday. 6 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule. Call required: sign up for extra shifts.

    Floating Requirements: Floating based on census and will be to lower level of care.
