Additional Information
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Proficient experience with titration of vasopressors (Levophed, Nicardipine, etc.), continuous IV sedation/sedation medication, insulin drips, BiPAP, Opti Flow, art lines, cardiac arrhythmias, external pacemakers, chest tubes, and trach-vented patients is required.
- Some ICU experience or high-acuity step-down/PCU experience required.
- Must have been at the bedside within the last 6 months.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Previous Charge Experience: Preferred
Special Requests:
- RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.
- No medical marijuana cards accepted.
Unit Details:
- Adult patient population.
- Acute medical care unit; essentially a step-down from ICU with high-acuity step-down patients.
- Typically 1-2 RTs are assigned to the SDU each shift, depending on census. RT is responsible for vents, but the RN needs to know how to troubleshoot alarms.
Shift & Scheduling:
- BJC policy: Every other weekend required.
- 2 shifts every other weekend. For day shift it is every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday. For night shift it can be Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday - depends on who already is on rotation.
- No call.
Floating Requirements:
- Float to floors that are lower acuity.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
