Additional Details:
All jobs with a 12 hour schedule have the option of a 36 or 48 hour work week.
Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles. Candidates need to have employment separation for at least 6 months to be considered for a travel position.
In order to receive travel rate, clinician’s claimed residence must match address on drivers license.
Driver License is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license.
Ascension Health does not accept vaccine/TDAP declinations.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of recent, full-time experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in a high-volume hospital setting, with demonstrated proficiency in all phases including decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and case cart preparation candidates with less experience or requiring extensive onboarding will not be considered.
- Extensive hands-on knowledge of AAMI standards, OSHA regulations, and Joint Commission guidelines for sterile processing, including immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) protocols—applicants unfamiliar with these will be disqualified.
- Experience handling complex instrument trays for specialties such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, and cardiology, with the ability to identify and resolve issues autonomously in fast-paced environments; no entry-level or partially trained techs accepted.
Required Credentials: Current CRCST certification (or equivalent) required, along with proven track record of independent operation in decontamination areas without supervision; must provide verifiable references from at least two prior travel assignments confirming no training was needed.
