Required Skills/Experience:
Proficiency with the CV heart team is required.
Must be able to scrub independently.
Must have 2 years in a similar setting.

Shift & Scheduling:
Rotational call coverage may include one call each week; when weekend call is included, it is one 24-hour call on either Saturday or Sunday, not both.

Surgical Technologist

Candidates should be able to start within 2 to 3 weeks of offer.

Required Skills/Experience:
Vascular and endovascular experience required.

Special Requests:
On-call coverage requires being within a 30-minute drive of the hospital; no sleep room is available at the hospital.

Unit Details:
Cases include cardiac open-heart, vascular, and endovascular procedures.

Shift & Scheduling:
Monday-Friday schedule.
Weekend call rotation only.
One winter holiday is required, and it is call only.
On-call is required 6-8 days per month.

Required Skills/Experience:
Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures.
Demonstrates ability to problem solve in relation to the procedure being performed.
Applies basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology for optimal surgical patient care.
Applies basic knowledge of electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers for optimal surgical patient care.
Demonstrates knowledge and practice of patient care concepts and perioperative teamwork.
Applies principles of sterile technique during surgical procedures.

Required Credentials:
Required Education: Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology OR Certificate of completion of Surgical Technology program.
One of the following is required: Certified through the NBSTSA as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or certified through the NCCT as a Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C).

Unit Details:
Open-heart surgical procedures are performed in the department.
Assists providers with procedures and treatments, prepares procedure rooms with appropriate supplies and equipment, and cleans and sterilizes instruments.
Reprocesses endoscopes and assists with specimen collection and transport.

Shift & Scheduling:
Weekend shifts rotate.
Holiday shifts rotate.

Floating Requirements:
Travelers assigned to the Greater Peoria Service Area may be required to float between the following sites: Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and/or Carle Health Proctor Hospital. The Carle Leader will notify the traveler directly when there is a need to float between locations.
Floating occurs on a rotational basis.

• **AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW**: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
