Occupational Therapist

Preferred Skills/Experience:
2-5+ years preferred.
Swing bed/observation patient experience or interest preferred.

Unit Details:
50%+ swing bed/inpatient/observation patients in the hospital; 50% outpatient, elderly/chronic pain population.
Treats total joints, low back/neck pain, chronic pain, and surgical/pain patients.

Shift & Scheduling:
Shift options: 7-3:30 or 8a-430p.
Possible weekend rotation, but unlikely; must be flexible.
No holiday requirements.
No call.

- Supervises 2 COTAs.
- Uses Net Health and HCHB.
- Productivity expectations: SNF 82% (evaluation, group, and concurrent time is counted in full); Home Health 90%, including drive time and documentation time.
- Onsite therapy supervisor.
- Administers therapeutic interventions, assesses client needs, develops therapy plans, documents care, consults with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, trains clients/family members/staff on interventions and equipment, and may supervise therapy assistants.

Shift & Scheduling:
- Mon-Fri or able to work a shifted schedule Tue-Sat or Sun-Thu.
- Flexible contract hours: 40 or 36 per week.

Floating Requirements:
- May work in SNF and Home Health settings, including Grand Island SNF, Hastings SNF, and home health in the surrounding areas.

Required Credentials:
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.

Unit Details:
OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center is Oklahoma’s only Level I Trauma Center. Clinicians should have strong Trauma Level 1 experience and/or be willing to work with difficult cases.
Provides individual and group treatment activities under the direction of a physician.
Interprets physician referrals and selects appropriate standardized evaluation procedures. Evaluates patients in independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, social skills, and various psychosocial skills.
Develops treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, frequency, and duration of treatment. Assists patients through the design and fabrication of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices, joint protection, and body mechanics. Informs patients and families of goals and progress.
Assists with discharge planning by ordering equipment and instructing patients on home therapy plans. May supervise students.

Travelers will be first to float.
