Additional Details:
Required Credentials: Clinicians must be graduates of an accredited nursing school and hold a California Registered Nurse (RN) license from the California Board of Registered Nursing.
Preferred Credentials: Approved program for Operating Room Technicians or demonstrated technical skills through on-the-job training preferred.
Special Requests: If worked at Sharp for 0-6 months, must wait at least 6 months before returning. If worked at Sharp for 6-12 months, must wait at least 12 months before returning. Former San Diego (including Temecula) residents must have permanent residence established outside of San Diego County (including Temecula) for a minimum of 1 year. Must not be working in San Diego for 1 year in order to apply as a traveler.
Unit Details: Provides patient care duties and unit support activities in the operating room suite. Demonstrates knowledge of procedures by anticipating needs prior to and during each case and assists with dressings and/or cast application at the end of the procedure. Picks cases following physician preference card. Signs count before patient leaves the room, counts with relief person when appropriate, counts towel clips, Allis, and Ednas per procedure, and is accountable for complete instrumental trays. Updates surgeon preference card per entity-specific processes.
Shift & Scheduling: Scheduled two shifts every other weekend. 12h weekend and 20h weekday of on-call in a 4-week period, with 30min response time. Weekend call will be in addition to regularly scheduled weekend shift.
