Required Skills/Experience:
First-time travelers are accepted if the candidate has 5+ years of experience.
Decontamination, processing, processing loaner pans/trays, tray assembly, wrapping, instrument inspections, high-level disinfection, transport of sterile items to the OR, transport of sterile items to CSP from the OR, and proper use of chemicals are required.
Endoscope processing for bronchoscopy scopes and GI scopes is required.

Special Requests:
Housing in ME becomes more expensive in the summer months, beginning in May. Be sure to confirm you are comfortable with housing options before applying.
RTO approval must go through the manager.
You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility.

Unit Details:
The unit processes equipment for 4 ORs and any hospital departments that need equipment processed.
The unit handles 10-15 cases per day.
The case mix includes general surgeries (open and laparoscopic bowel, gallbladder, appendix, hernias), urology, ENT, ophthalmology, GYN (including C-sections), heavy ortho (including total joints), and endoscopies.
The assignment does not include case picking.
The clinician could work solo on evenings, weekends, or call-back.
Unit-specific equipment includes Venivator (high-level disinfector for scopes), Sterrad (low-temperature), and Scope Buddy.

Shift & Scheduling:
Weekday schedule is 9:00AM-5:30PM.
Monday-Friday shift times are 0830-1700.
Weekend rotation is call only, every 4th weekend.
On-call coverage includes 1-2 evenings per week, with no overnight call (1700-2100).
Weekend call is from 0900-2100.
On-call response time is 30 minutes.
Holiday call expectation is 1 holiday per contract, call only.
