Additional Details:
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- First-time travelers require further approval/evaluation from the hiring supervisor and are not recommended.
- Agency staff are not trained on robots unless they have a strong background and will be here for more than one contract.
Unit Details:
- General/Neuro cases include spine surgeries (laminectomies, ALIFs, fusions, dissections); cranial surgeries (tumors, VP shunts, subdural, EVDs; AVMs/aneurysm not required); and ENT cases including neck dissections with flaps, sinus surgeries, basic ENT, tympanoplasty, and cochlear cases not required.
- Uses Medtronic navigation for cranial and spine, Medtronic Stealth for ENT, and Stryker and Synaptive navigation for cranial.
- Orthopedic cases include fractures, anterior hips, total knees, posterior hips, ortho spine, hand, bone/soft tissue sarcomas, foot/ankle, total shoulders, and arthroscopy of the shoulder, knee, ankle, and wrist.
- Uses Hana Table, Jackson Table (open/flat top), Beach Chair (T-Max, Arthrex, Schlein), Stulberg hip, spider arm, hip grip, Trimano, Arthrex shoulder traction, peg board, arm boards, Acufex leg holder, and the Velys robot.
- General cases include breast, plastic, vascular, laparoscopic, general oncology, genitourinary, gynecology, and DaVinci XI robotic cases.
- Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis.
Special Requests:
- Holiday weeks: may work 4 10h shifts or work normal hours and request the holiday off unpaid.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Variable day shift start times between 0530-0700.
- On-call required with a 30-minute response time.
- 8-week call schedule is subject to change based on staffing needs.
- General/Neuro call includes AM/PM coverage, EOS (end of shift) call: 10 slots, and weekend call 1-2 weekends depending on specialty.
Floating Requirements:
- Cross trained to General Main OR specialty regardless of hiring position and to the Urology Center; no floating to other hospitals/sites.
