Required Skills/Experience:

• Central Processing Course or 1 year experience instrument processing.

Required Credentials:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Unit Details:

• Responsible for cleaning, processing, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation, patient care equipment, and reusable medical/surgical items.
• Functions as a Case Cart Attendant for the Operating Room.
• Operates Steam, ETO, Sterrad, and Steris sterilizers.
• Prepares case carts using doctor's preference information to assemble required instruments, drugs, and special equipment.
• Uses computerized instrument count sheets.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled are required.
• Rotating schedule/shifts based on needs.
• No on-call requirement.
