Additional Information
All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility.
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience: Seasoned traveler required - multiple travel assignments in blood bank. Blood bank experience required - must be recent/current (within 2 years). Must have experience with blood bank software specifically; can be any software. Must have experience in a large hospital (300+ beds). Must be able to work alone with confidence.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience is preferred. Community hospital experience is preferred. WellSky and Immucor automation/instrumentation experience preferred. Component modification preferred.
Required Credentials: Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past.
Preferred Credentials: Clinical Immunohematology Scientist preferred.
Special Requests: RTO must be listed at time of submission.
Unit Details: Adult patient population. Very busy blood bank lab; will see 30-50 samples a day with high-volume type/screen and crossmatch. Works fully independently at night.
Shift & Scheduling: Start time is 2130, but may flex to 2000 as needed. No call. Rotating weekends and holidays. Weekends may exceed every other to accommodate unit needs.
