Required Skills/Experience:

• Multiple travel assignments in blood bank are required.
• Blood bank experience is required and must be recent/current (within 2 years) as a blood bank traveler.
• Experience with blood bank software is required; any software is acceptable.
• Must be able to work fully independently at night with confidence.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience with Immucor instrumentation and automation is preferred.
• Component modification is preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
• Community hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials:

• Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past.

Preferred Credentials:

• Clin Immunohem Sci preferred.

Special Requests:

• RTO must be listed at time of submission.
• All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility.
• You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
• Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.

Unit Details:

• Adult patient population.
• The laboratory processes 30-50 samples a day, with high-volume type/screen and crossmatch work.
• Immucor instrumentation is used.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Start time is 2130, but may flex to 2000 as needed.
• Workdays may vary.
• Rotating weekends and holidays are required; weekends may exceed every other to accommodate unit needs.
• No call.
