Failed fit tests due to facial hair and the inability to shave automatically disqualifies clinician from proceeding.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Central Processing Course or 1 year experience instrument processing.
Required Credentials:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Unit Details:
- Responsible for cleaning, processing, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation, patient care equipment, and reusable medical/surgical items.
- Functions as a Case Cart Attendant for the Operating Room.
- Operates Steam, ETO, Sterrad, and Steris sterilizers.
- Prepares case carts using doctor's preference information to assemble required instruments, drugs, and special equipment.
- Uses computerized instrument count sheets.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled are required.
- Rotating schedule/shifts based on needs.
- No on-call requirement.
